The Worst Way to Get Ahead on America's Got Talent

Invalid valor?  This is just wrong for the real heroes who proudly serve our country.

A singer, Tim Poe, who appeared on the NBC show “America’s Got Talent” claimed he was injured during a grenade blast in Afghanistan.  But there is no military record of his purported combat injuries, the Minnesota National Guard said Tuesday.

As if trying to win favor with the judges, Poe had a stutter when he spoke with the judges, which he attributed to his combat injury.  The stutter disappeared when he sang.  He also didn’t appear to stutter when he spoke with the show’s host after his performance.  His ex-wife also claims she never heard him stutter.  She said, "There were no combat injuries... I think he developed a ‘feel sorry for me’ stutter.”

Poe did serve with the Minnesota Army National Guard from December 2002 through May 2011 and worked as a supply specialist.
