On a hazy spring day last year, amateur photographer Frank Glick said he was driving through Fort Snelling National Cemetery.  It was by chance that he saw a huge eagle perched on a tombstone.

The eagle had landed on the grave of a United States serviceman, Sgt. Maurice Ruch.

Today, June 20th, is American Eagle Day.  Congress has resolved to recognize 'American Eagle Day' every 20th of June and it has so far been proclaimed in 41 states.
