An Often Overlooked Survivor of 9/11
It still remains a sign of hope at Ground Zero.  A pear tree badly damaged in the 9/11 attacks has been replanted and now stands around 30 feet tall.  It was planted at the World Trade Center complex in the 1970s, but had to fight for survival with snapped roots and a blackened trunk.  To this day, it still has the scars of 9/11.
